John 10:10 Charismatic Bible
“I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it in overflowing abundance.”
John 10:10 TPT
“But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect – life in its fulness until you overflow!”
While in the posture of waiting upon the Lord, I began to hear the word ‘abundance’.
As I waited in His Whisper, I was impressed with a memory, and I began to ponder with Holy Spirit – this memory and the whisper of ‘abundance’.
The memory being stirred was of a trip I made years ago to northern Canada.
It was a journey with friends to a First Nations Reservation for a gathering and fellowship.
While there, I had the privilege of being invited to go into a wilderness area that is part of this reservations land for a short adventure.
As we drove into this area, I noticed how lush and rich the trees and greenery were, and the fields were filled with colors that waved in the summer’s breeze.
When we stopped and parked the vehicle, I immediately heard the silence.
There was no noise of man, no cars, no planes, no machinery, only the gentle sound of the wind and the cry of the birds.
We strolled along a path, we were on a mission to pick blueberries, so with buckets in hand we set off. Walking in the silence of the land, we came to a crested hill overlooking a vast field of blueberries. It extended as far as my eyes could see.
The fragrance surrounded me, I breathed it in, as I did the silence.
It was truly a fragrance of bounty and abundance.
I carefully stepped to the nearest blueberry bush and was astonished at the size of the blueberries – abundance!
What normally would have taken an hour or so to fill a few buckets, was done in a few minutes. The berries were truly overflowing on each bush and when gently touched they would fall into the bucket.
The taste was beyond any blueberry I have ever eaten, including my favorite, wild Maine blueberries.
There I stood, in the middle of this vast expanse of blueberries, wrapped in their fragrance, my belly filled with delight from my berry banqueting, and still awestruck at the gift of silence. Abundance!
I treasured those moments. This land was stewarded as the gift it was to these precious people. They honored the land and the Giver of the land – The Lord God – Creator of all.
They cared for the beauty and the bounty of this land, and they took their role as keepers of what had been entrusted to them as grateful stewards.
Sacred silence, the holy hush of quietude – this to me was the most precious and valued gift of that day’s journey.
The Lord brought me to a physical location, to encounter a land unpolluted by the normal noise of our day, and He whispered – ‘this is how to walk and live – in and from My Quiet Rest – within and around your life’.
We have no greater invitation – than the one extended to us by the One Who created us and desires us, the One who longs to sit and share His Heart with ours.
It is from here that we hear His Whispers, we smell His Fragrance of Life, we eat of the Abundance of fresh revelation from The One Who is THE WORD!
We eat and we drink of Him, in our sacred space, and we begin to overflow with an abundance of His life pouring through ours.
We step out into the harvest fields, carrying this place of rest and quiet within and around our lives. We bring His stillness within us out into the noise of mankind and release Heaven’s Holy Hush.
Can you hear the invitation – to be still and to know and to encounter Him.
To be comfortable in quietness, in silence, not needing anything else, for you have now journeyed into a moment of awe and wonder – He is enough. Abundance!
Selah!
