HOLD OUT YOUR HAND

Luke 6:6-11 The Message
“6 On another Sabbath he went to the meeting place and taught. There was a man there with a crippled right hand. 7 The religion scholars and Pharisees had their eye on Jesus to see if he would heal the man, hoping to catch him in a Sabbath infraction. 8 He knew what they were up to and spoke to the man with the crippled hand: “Get up and stand here before us.” He did.
9 Then Jesus addressed them, “Let me ask you something: What kind of action suits the Sabbath best? Doing good or doing evil? Helping people or leaving them helpless?”
10 He looked around, looked each one in the eye. He said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” He held it out — it was as good as new! 11 They were beside themselves with anger and started plotting how they might get even with him.”
 
Jesus went to the meeting place to teach and there in the crowd was a man with a crippled right hand. The religious scholars and pharisees had their eyes on Jesus – to see if He would heal on the Sabbath so they could catch him in an infraction.
 
But Jesus will not bow His knee nor should we to religious spirits operating through people that watch our lives with a critical eye and judgment in their hearts. 
He took authority over the religious spirits and so should we, because the battle is not with flesh and blood, but with the enemy’s intent to stop whatever the Father in Heaven wants to display of His Kingdom in and through our lives on earth.
We should not only not give way to them, but they should have no place within us.
 
Jesus knew (word of knowledge – seeing by the Spirit the motivations of their hearts)  what they were up to and He spoke to the man with the crippled hand – purposely and intentionally!!
“GET UP AND STAND HERE BEFORE US”
The man got up and then Jesus addressed them –
“what kind of action suits the Sabbath best?  Doing good or doing evil?  Helping people or leaving them helpless?
 
He looked around – LOOKED EACH ONE IN THE EYE
Purposely and intentionally – looking deep – His Piercing Eyes of Truth and Light probing each soul and spirit and heart…….
 
He purposely tells the man to get up and stand here before us – for all to see –
For HE is Lord of the Sabbath  He came to fulfill the Law.
He and the Father are about to display – Mercy and the Compassionate Heart of God –
revealing how they care for their own.
 
He looks the religious pharisaical spirits one at a time right in the eye.
He looks into each eyegate – with eyes of Blazing Fiery Justice and Jealous Guarding.
This ONE who came to set the captives free would make bold statements with His Look,
His Actions and His Words
 
He looks INTENTLY in each one’s eye and then says to the man –
HOLD OUT YOUR HAND!!
Defying the religious spirits and their evil practices and heavy weights of hypocrisy –
HOLD OUT YOUR HAND
Not a suggestion – a command of Love and Mercy!

I will show you WHO I AM and the KINGDOM I am of!
The man held out his hand – IT WAS AS GOOD AS NEW.
 
FOUR WORDS – ONE EXTENDED HAND IN OBEDIENCE!
 
A Creative Miracle!
Overtaking and swallowing up any religious spirits’ decrees –
Rolling them up like a scroll – rendering them null and void.
 
They were beside themselves with anger and started plotting how to get even with evil revenge!!
They had no heart for this man or the man’s crippled and now healed hand!
How his life is forever changed inside and out –
TOUCHED BY LORD OF SABBATH – LORD OF ALL.
 
For all of his days he would walk under the words:
‘HOLD OUT YOUR HAND’
 
He would replay it again and again and again.
He would look at his hand and marvel at the mercies of God.
He would show his hand to many and they would talk into the night of the goodness of God in the land of the living.
 
The pharisees would replay the scene again and again and seethe with anger and vengeance, plotting and scheming to get Him some way.
Their only concerns were themselves and their plotting.  No compassion in their hearts.  They could not even see this man’s healing in the glorious Touch of God that took place. 
 
Our God of Love and Mercy
Was revealed in four words – HOLD OUT YOUR HAND!
 
Jesus our Savior revealed WHY He came
To restore all that was lost –  every man, woman and child – their entire body, soul and spirit.
The Kingdom of God is revealed.
This is family – not only does He come to restore relationship – but our whole being.
 
Eyes of Fiery Love and Justice caring for the needy –
The Great Intercessor – the Eternal Sacrifice takes action and says in His actions
I HAVE THE FINAL SAY.
Now and forever I AM is in charge   I AM IN CHARGE!
 
He says to us today, in this season we find ourselves in –
HOLD OUR YOUR HANDS –
In holy surrender……let ME fill your hands with healing Mercy and Grace.
Oh that would you let My Astounding, Amazing Love flow in and through your lives to touch those around you.
Let me reveal to the world around you – that I care, that I AM, and I AM able to heal, restore, create and make all things new.
 
Hold out your hands, abandoning every limitation you may not even know you have placed upon Me, upon yourself, or have allowed to be placed upon your spirit.  Lay them down and leave them at My Feet.
 
Wait, wait, wait with Me, upon Me for I long in this hour to fill your life, your heart, your spirit with My Resurrection Reality – Power of My Kingdom – from hearts awakened and filled with fresh Mercy, Grace and  Holy Love.
 
HOLD OUT YOUR HANDS

Nothing is impossible – I AM ABLE!
